Terms of service

This site describes three connected services: hands-on product design engagements, design-recruiting support, and UX coaching (including live cohort sessions). All engagements are led directly by Jacki Torres, operating as an independent practice rather than an agency with a larger team.

Submitting an inquiry or intake form does not create a contract for services. A paid engagement, coaching booking, or hiring search begins only once scope, timing, and payment (where applicable) have been confirmed directly with Jacki.

Coaching payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices shown at checkout are the prices charged; any introductory or early-access pricing is clearly labeled and honored only for the period stated.

Refunds for coaching and cohort sessions are handled case by case — contact Jacki directly to discuss a specific booking.

Applying to the talent network is free and does not guarantee a match, referral, or placement. Information submitted is used to evaluate fit for relevant opportunities as they arise, and applicants may be contacted if a potential match comes up.

You agree not to use this site to submit false information, attempt to disrupt its operation, or misuse any form on the site for a purpose other than its stated one.

Site content, design, and written material are the property of First Layer Design unless otherwise credited. Deliverables produced as part of a paid engagement are governed by the terms agreed for that engagement, not by this page.

Design, coaching, and hiring-support services are professional services delivered in good faith. They do not guarantee a specific business, career, or hiring outcome.

To the extent permitted by law, First Layer Design is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this site or its services.

These terms may be updated as the services on this site change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
